Jason Brooke recently made a flying visit to Kuching to spend a civic-spirited Saturday at the 2nd Annual Kuching Heritage Race. The atmosphere was buzzing with more than 300 participants and volunteers, including more than 20 Brooke Trust youth volunteers - who came together to promote engagement with Sarawak's heritage.
This year, one leg of the race was hosted by the Brooke Gallery at Fort Margherita. Teams ventured across the river, landing at Kampung Boyan and up to the Fort before taking on the challenges within. Gallery Manager Liza Sideni and her team - Barbara and Adams - welcomed 250 rain-drenched racers searching for clues and exploring the collections. A brilliant local initiative and a fun day was had by all - congratulations to the volunteers, participants and to the organising committee chaired by Philip Yong.
