The Trust has undertaken its digitisation to allow access as an academic resource. This involved photographing and cataloguing every individual document before uploading it to a central database. Many of the records are handwritten letters to or from James Brooke and require attentive detail in the transcriptions as well as further work by our digital archivist to make them searchable. This is a slow and methodical process and requires a great deal of resources. If you are interested in supporting this endeavour, either through a donation or practical assistance, please Contact Us
This important new resource was launched to the public as an advanced beta site in November 2016. CLICK HERE to explore the Brooke Archive.
This is a separate archive from our other project, the Borneo Archive, which aims to digitise the collection of images held by the Trust.
